ARCHITECT

DANIEL AZERRAD

Daniel Azerrad was born in the city of San Juan, Argentina, in 1961. He began studying architecture at the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Buenos Aires in 1980. In1983 he immigrated to Israel where he finished his degree at the Technion in Haifa (1987) with a prize-winning graduation project (rehabilitation of a Palestinian camp in Jericho). While studying he won a scholarship to work at the

Instituto del Sol Catalunya in Barcelona.
After graduation he joined the firm Ram & Ada Karmi Architects to work on the project of The Supreme Court in Jerusalem. In 1991 he joined the architectural firm of Moshe Zur and headed the project "The Kanion Arim Shopping Mall” in the city of Kfar Saba. In 1993 he founded the firm “Stav Architects” with his associates in Tel Aviv, where he worked

until December 2014.
In 1997 Daniel was appointed to an academic post as senior lecturer in the School of Architecture at the University of Ariel. There he served as the director of the 3rd year students’ Design Workshop (Housing), and also led an experimental workshop that focused on the sketch as a way to generate and develop architecture.
In 2011 Daniel moved to Barcelona to study for his Masters degree, which he was awarded in 2013. His thesis dealt with a comparison between the Urban Grid fabric of Barcelona (Cerda) and that of Tel Aviv (Geddes).
In January 2015 he founded the firm “Daniel Azerrad Architects,” which has its offices

in the city of Tel Aviv.
